Knoxville's first professional softball team needs a name. This is how the community chooses it.
The Process
April 15 – May 31, 2026
Any resident of Knoxville or the surrounding East Tennessee area can submit a team name idea, mascot concept, and color suggestion. All submissions are reviewed by the team's brand committee.
June 2026
The brand committee reviews all submissions for trademark availability, cultural fit, and community resonance. A shortlist of 5–8 names is prepared for the finalist vote.
July 2026
The community votes on the shortlisted finalist names. Every registered fan receives a vote. Results are tallied and the top two names advance to the final round.
September 2026
The two finalists are presented alongside initial logo concepts and color palettes. The community casts a final vote to select the official team name.
October 2026
The official team name, logo, and brand identity are unveiled at a live event in Knoxville. Season ticket sales open the same day.
June 2027
Knoxville's first professional softball team takes the field for the inaugural PSL season. The name chosen by the community leads them out.

Each person may submit one entry per email address. We want every submission to be your best idea.
The brand committee reviews all submissions for trademark availability, cultural relevance, and community fit. The top 5–8 names with the strongest case are advanced to the public finalist vote.
Your personal information (name and email) is kept private. Submitted team names may be shared publicly during the finalist announcement.
The Professional Softball League (PSL) is a city-based professional women's softball league. Knoxville's franchise will compete in the PSL starting in June 2027.
The official name reveal is planned for October 2026, following the final community vote in September.
